Golfing Tips For Beginners: 5

Author: Owen Jones

‘Drive for show, but putt for dough’ is the phrase we’ve all seen and learned from watching professional golfers in every tournament and championship either live or on TV.

The best players of golf can drive a ball from the tee to kingdom-come, but in the end, it all comes down to how many hits of the ball it takes to get that ball in the hole. The long accurate drives don’t mean a thing if you’re unable to putt accurately on the green.

The choice of putter is very important, but knowing how to use that putter consistently, is even more important. For example, I’ve had the same putter for fifteen years, so I know what it feels like in my hand, I know it’s weight and I know how all that plays into my putts.

Now putting takes a huge amount of practice. Think about this: we drive the ball roughly eighteen times a game (once per hole), but putt at least twice that amount. So, surely it make sense to practice putting at least twice as much as driving? Therefore, if you just can’t get to the practice green that often, you could practice on your carpet at home.

Keep in mind that no ball can make it into the hole, if it doesn’t have enough power behind it to get it there. Take the time to get down on the grass and look at the path from your ball to the hole. Does it slant one way or the other? Is it uphill or downhill?

The stance is: stand with your feet spread for balance and line up the putt. Keep you hands, arms and shoulders completely still. Imagine that you are a “bobble head” and that you move from just below the chest. Keep your head directly over the ball; pull your club back; keep your hands, wrists, arms and shoulders steady – the movement comes from your chest; hit the ball, following through with your club.

Try to learn from each putt and remember the lesson. Practice, practice, practice!

Vacation Travel By Train

Author: Owen Jones

During the last ten years there has been a return to train travel, particularly in the United States. This might have something to do with nostalgia and romance, but most analysts put it down to a consequence of the in-flight bombing of Twin Towers on 9/11/2001.

The government’s and the airlines’ response to those acts of terrorism have resulted in massive hikes in the degree of security at airports and quite rightly so, but travellers are also put off by the lengthy queues and invasive searches at airports. This problem is even worse at busy airports and during holiday periods such as while schools are off.

Car travel is also an alternative, but then you have to carry out your own driving and that brings its own issues, especially if you are with children and particularly if you are a single parent. Besides that, travelling by train is a vacation in its own right. Your trip begins the moment you put your bags in the rack and find your seat.

Once you have sat down, given the kids a colouring book and a can of soda, you can sit back, relax and just snooze or look out of the window at the scenery whizzing past. Most of your worries are over until you arrive at where you are going. Your kids cannot become lost or wander off and they are very safe from predators.

In addition, trains seats are usually much more roomy than similar airline seats. Economy seats in a train are much more comfortable than economy seats in an airplane. You can also get up and walk about which makes long journeys much more comfortable.

The backdrop is also better from a train than a plane. After all, clouds are clouds are clouds, but you can see all sorts of things out of the window of a train. There are also sleeping and dining carriages to break up the journey, but there is normally also attendant service in your seat, if that is what you want. Simply push the button and someone will come to take your order.

Have you heard of the Orient Express, the Flying Scotsman or the Trans-Siberian Express? What romantic visions they conjure up. Contemporary trains may not have the nostalgia or the steam locomotives of the Thirties, but they are still great to travel on.

You can book your seats on a train trip much the same as you would on a plane, which means that if you get up to go to the bathroom or dining carriage, your seat will still be empty when you return. This is a colossal plus factor, because it is annoying if someone takes your seat.

The next time that you make a decision to go away, think again about travelling by train. You can leave your car at the station or you can even take it with you on the train, if you like. You will not regret having given the rail network a chance, because the likelihood are that you have forgotten how handy and inexpensive they are.

SEO copywriting services are provided by businesses or people who will either compose pieces of writing to order or will allow you, for a fee, to re-use and rewrite pieces that they have written previously. Some of these businesses are excellent, but most of them are worse than bad.

Some of the pieces that these companies sell are so bad that it would have been easier to compose the articles from fresh rather than rewrite the gibberish that they sell.

The difficulty when you are searching for SEO copywriting services is that most webmasters who require these services are working alone and frequently those who do know a good firm offering SEO copywriting services would prefer to keep the knowledge to themselves.

Asking in a forum is practically useless, because there are too numerous members who do not know but have to say something and there are others who would not know a decent piece if they read one.

Therefore, the best advice is to be vary cautious before you listen to advice and be very, very wary before you part with any money. There are different levels that these firms work on, so it also depends what you want.

Do you need a firm to supply SEO copywriting services in toto – that is, do you need them to write the articles and advertise your company for you or do you need to purchase pieces from them and advertise your own web site yourself?

The first choice is expensive, but there are two levels of the second option: first, if you buy original pieces, you will have the same worries mentioned above, but if you purchase PLR articles (private label rights), you should rewrite them a little anyway in order to make them unique. This is an easy and far less costly task.

Let’s begin with the top end of the market. if you want someone to take over promoting your firm on the Internet, then you need to be certain that that company understands the business that you are in. For example, would a firm that has had success marketing a garden centre be able to promote a butcher’s?

Therefore, you have to see examples of the firms that they have run successful campaigns for in the past and you should look at their web site and even contact the company to see if there were any concerns. A bona fide SEO copywriting services company will be glad to show you these details, because they will be proud of their repute.

If you merely need someone to write original articles for you, you can afford to be a lot less inquisitive. All you need to know in this instance is the details of the warranty. If there is no guarantee that you will like the articles, then go elsewhere.

If you are prepared to do a little rewriting of the articles that you have bought, you can render them your own. This is the route that most people using SEO copywriting services take to add content to their web sites or use as pieces to advertise them.

Owen Jones, the author of this article, writes on several topics, but is now concerned with the SEO Content. If you would like to know more, please go to our website at PLR Articles

The Rapid Weight Loss Myths

Author: Owen Jones

There is nothing intrinsically wrong with wanting to be slimmer just to have a sexier body. Many people have moulded their bodies to make them look more healthy and more desirable. However, there is no way to attain this new look in a day of two. The problem is that most people do not want to wait, they want it now.

This can lead to these people making rather rash and, it has top be said, rather silly decisions. They are not willing to wait and they are not willing to work for what they want. This is why so many people turn to rapid weight loss diets. Some ‘guru’ brings out a new fad diet and a good proportion of the ‘I want it now’ crowd jump on the band wagon. Only to be disappointed again within the year or less.

Speed diets or rapid weight loss diets tend to put out great advertising copy that is very difficult to resist. However, all diets, no matter which one you choose, Weight Watchers, Atkins or fad diet, depend on overweight people making lifestyle changes in order for them to work permanently.

There is a very apposite saying: if you always do what you always did, then you will always get what you always got. That says it all. You can lose weight with all but the stupidest of diets, but if you go back to your old ways when you hit your target weight, you MUST slowly, but gradually creep back to your old weight.

If you give your body more calories than it needs, it will store them for when it does need them. The problem is that that day never comes for too many people, because they never exert themselves. This is especially true of fad diets like the ‘cabbage water’ diet. Yes, you will lose weight on it, but you would lose weight by fasting whatever you did. For a while, and then you might get sick. For a diet to work, it has to be flexible and enjoyable enough for you to be able to stick with it for the rest of your life. Make no mistake, dieting is long-haul.

Many rapid weight loss programs actually only squeeze the water out of you. Just like a wet sponge. But a good dieter maintains his or her grip on that sponge, not letting it soak up water again. The problem with short term dieting, is that you let go of the sponge underwater.

This is why serial dieters first lose weight and are happy; then finish dieting, go back to their old weight and become depressed. In that state of depression they are suckers for the advertisers of the next latest craze diet. In other words, they are being manipulated and literally squeezed dry, but of their money too.

These silly rapid weight loss programs also include fat loss pills. They are not making you lose fat, well, maybe a tiny amount gets flushed out with all the excess water you are carrying. They are only diuretics under another name. How many pills would I sell if I called them diuretics? How many more would I sell if I called them miracle fat loss pills?

Type the word diuretic into a engine and find out more about them. They are all around you in mild healthy forms. A diuretic will essentially cause your body to lose more fluid than was in the diuretic. Tea is a diuretic, for example.

This list of these dopey dieting aids to rapid weight loss goes on and on, but someone must be buying them and you can bet your bottom dollar that it is the sad, depressed dieter who let go of the sponge.

Slimming soap! Slimming soap is being advertised as being a rare Eastern remedy for corpulence. Well, let me tell you, I live in the East and I have never come across it here. Asians are slim because they do a lot of physical labour and do not come under the pressure to eat junk food that Westerners do, although that situation is changing quickly too.

Magnetic weight loss earrings, I ask you! Even being inebriated without a present for your wife ten minutes before Christmas Day is not a good enough excuse to fall for this one, surely? The advertisers say that the secret of this set of earrings is that they are magnetic.

Well, if you believe this, why not get a pair of $1 children’s toy magnets or even a couple of fridge magnets and put one in each hip pocket? Two? Well, after all, you would not want to lose weight from only one side, would you? You would be lop sided.

Just remember, when you are looking for a rapid weight loss diet: there ain’t one ( that will work for life). If you are putting on weight, then your lifestyle is wrong and it is up to you alone to change it.

US Holidays And Holy Days

Author: Owen Jones

Congress and the president have designated ten days as federal holidays. Being ‘federal’, these holidays technically only pertain to federal employees and residents of the District of Columbia, although they are so widely observed that they could be thought of as national holidays.

Officially, it is up to each individual state to designate public holidays. If the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the Friday before or the Monday after is given in lieu to make a long weekend.

New Year’s Day (January 1) – celebrating the New Year dates back to pre-Christian times, when rites were performed to attempt to ensure the return of Spring.

Martin Luther King Jnr. Day (third Monday in January) – before he was shot dead in 1968, Martin Luther King Jnr. was the foremost civil rights leader of the 1950′s and 1960′s. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. Congress set this day aside to celebrate his life and achievements in 1983.

Washington’s Birthday (third Monday in February) – originally it was commemorated on Washington’s actual birthday, the 22nd of February, but it was moved in 1971 to make a long weekend. It is sometimes known as Presidents’ Day, because it is near Lincoln’s birthday on the 12th February.

Memorial Day (last Monday in May) – also called Decoration Day, it honours soldiers fallen in battle. It originates from the Civil War and is traditionally marked by parades and services.

Independence Day (4th July) – this, the most important US holiday, marks the 1776 signing of the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain. It was first commemorated in 1777 and is marked by fireworks, parades and speeches.

Labor Day (first Monday in September) – this, the idea of Peter J. McGuire, the president of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, was adopted in 1894 to celebrate American workers.

Columbus Day (second Monday in October) – Christopher Columbus and his crew landed in the Bahamas on Oct 12th 1492. It was first celebrated in 1792, although it was not formally recognized until 1909. It is a source of special pride to Italian-Americans, who claim the Genoan explorer as their own.

Veterans Day (Nov 11th) – or Armistice Day commemorates the end of the First World War on Nov 11th 1918. It was made a legal holiday in 1938, but its name was changed in 1954 to honour all American veteran soldiers.

Thanksgiving Day (fourth Thursday in November) – it was first celebrated in Plymouth County, Massachusetts in 1621, the year in which the Pilgrims landed in the New World to give thanks for the new harvest and the new land they had colonized. President Lincoln made it a holiday in 1863.

Christmas Day (December 25th) – Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

Fashionable Dog Names

Author: Owen Jones

Fashion seems to decree everything these days. From what you wear to what you name your dog, everything you do is dictated by the need to be cool. Cool dog names are hard to come by and even harder to choose. This is because no sooner is something in fashion, than it is out again.

Who would want to choose a cool dog name that may not be fashionable tomorrow? People usually play it safe as a result, hence why the same names have been so popular for so long. To try and break that cycle, five cool dog names are listed below with the reasons why you should choose one of them for your dog.

Phoenix: What could be cuter than a bird that goes up in flames and then rises from the ashes? Phoenix is one of the cool dog names that will never go out of fashion because it is based in mythology. It has a timeless quality which has somewhat surprisingly failed to increase its popularity.

Star: Star is one of the cute dog names because it has so many connotations that you can have a hard time finding out where to begin. A star in the sky is a phenomenon and a star can refer to someone that outperforms in a particular field. It is indeed a high form of praise and so is definitely a cute dog name.

Lady: Lady is one of the most popular dog names but it is also one of the cool dog names because of Disney. Lady and the Tramp was a huge hit and made the name popular but also gave it some credibility. In this case popularity is second to coolness.

Elvis: The coolest of cute dog names. Elvis Presley was undoubtedly cool and remains cool today even after his death. It is infinitely cool to name your dog after an icon who never goes out of fashion.

Shadow: There is a dark and mysterious quality about Shadow that makes it a cute dog name. It would be used to best effect on a large dog though because it wouldn’t have the same strong effect with a small breed.

Whatever cute dog names you consider for your pooch, it is one sure-fire way to give them an identity of their own and make them memorable in the eyes of others. .

A lot of people do not understand their bodies. That much is obvious because they think that fasting will help them become fitter. They feel convinced that their bodies will feed off their surplus fat and that they will lose weight as a result. They also appear to imagine that they will automatically end up with more muscle, just in the right places too. Some take up fasting for fitness because they think that it will rid them of the toxins in their bodies.

Another belief that these fasters have is that they are will be able to flush out all of the impurities in their bodies by drinking lots of water at the same time as not consuming food. Even if this is correct, it would be a long process that would mean that you would have to fast for at least five to seven days though in order to complete the detox process, although it is still not clear scientifically whether fasting is the right approach for those that seek fitness.

There are many other routes to fitness that do work well though. For example, you can cut back the amount of food that you consume. Cutting back is not fasting, it is dieting and it is not only far more effectual, it is also far less difficult. This, together with drinking lots of water and increasing your amount of physical activity will help you to become fitter.

If you drink a lot of soda like cola or lemonade, which are full of sugar, like a lot of kids do, or lots of cups of sugared tea or coffee, like a lot of adults do, then just replacing those drinks with water or weak tea will help you lose weight fairly quickly even if you do not make any other alterations to your diet or your amount of activity.

It is also likely to damage your body if you embark on a strenuous exercise regime only relying on body fat to keep you going. Your body probably will not be able to deliver enough energy to fuel such a change, because your metabolism will be too low.

Someone going about it in this way, can become very weak and dizzy. It is not a good idea to run the risk of injury because you have not given your body all the energy it requires to complete the tasks you are requiring it to perform.

It is better to consult a doctor before you make any alterations to either your diet or your fitness routine. Confer with your doctor about your thoughts on fasting and fitness. They will be able to inform you whether they feel it is something you can try or whether it is just too risky.

Fasting is all right if you have do it for religious purposes, but do not attempt much physical exertion. Ask a Muslim how he or she feels during Ramadan! Fasting for long periods can lead to high blood pressure and even liver damage. So, be very wary before attempting to starve yourself fit, there are much better ways.

Wall Painting Ideas

Author: Michael James

So here you are, you’ve bought your new house! Its a bit of a mess since the previous owner was in a hurry to sell and had been in the middle of redecorating. You don’t really mind that though, since it gives you the perfect chance to do your house up exactly the way you want it to be done.

However, now you need to decide where everything should go and which colours would suit which rooms, but you don’t have any wall painting ideas.

So, you eagerly look through your new keys and wander through your new house. The moment you step in through a door ideas assail you. That stylish standard lamp you bought a while ago would look great in the corner, and you’re pretty sure that your existing sofa set will fit in this other room. And you know that a mahogany table would look stunning in the hallway. The only thing you really don’t have much of a clue about are wall painting ideas.

You don’t want to just splash on a coat of neutral coloured paint and be done with it. What you want is a masterpiece, something that you can look on with pride every time you see it. Naturally, you should be able to keep looking at it with pleasure for some time to come as well, so it shouldn’t be too over the top.

But where can you get some decent wall painting ideas from, and how can you go about getting the wall painting done? There are a few ways that you could go about it. The easiest being if you have an artistic streak in you, then you could always get your wall painting ideas off the cuff, so to speak and paint the walls as you see fit. Unfortunately, most of us aren’t very artistic and we are hesitant to pick up a brush or roller and apply the first coat of paint without any guidance. In this scenario then, you will need some help.

You could begin by hiring a professional decorator to help you to decide which styles would look suit your home or you could sit down and watch some DIY TV programs, in which they show some pretty stylish ideas on what to do when re-decorating a house and will even give you some stylish wall painting ideas.

If neither of these options is viable for you though, you could just try going down to your local hardware store with fabric swatches and colour sheets of your most prominent pieces of furniture and enlist their assistance on stylish wall decorating ideas.

You may come up with a hodge-podge of wall painting ideas with this last suggestion, but I found that it was the one that worked best for me and now I’m very proud of my slightly quirky house. It reflects who I am just perfectly.

The Atkins Grapefruit Diet.

Author: Frank Williams

The Atkins Grapefruit diet is a diet plan, not endorsed by the eponymous Dr. Atkins company, that hopes to play on the fame of the grapefruit diet and the Atkins diet name. However, a closer look at this diet shows that it may not be all it claims for itself.

First off, it’s pretty difficult to find information on the Atkins grapefruit diet plan. Clever people know that when someone is carrying out a deception, or a con, they will often gloss over the facts. This is what the Atkins grapefruit diet seems to do in an attempt to get people to associate it with two seemingly effective diets.

Is the Atkins Grapefruit Diet part of the Atkins Diet or recommended by the estate of the late Dr. Atkins? The answer is no, not only is there no mention of the Atkins Grapefruit Diet on the Atkins web site, but there is no fruit of any kind mentioned in the list of allowed foods in the Atkins diet Induction phase either.

The induction phase allows the following foods: Fish of all kinds. All fowl such as turkey and chicken. Any shellfish. Any meat such as beef or pork. Eggs cooked in any style including fried. Cheese. Vegetables. Herbs and Spices. Fats and Oils. Low carbohydrate beverages including diet soft drinks.

Please, notice one thing – that fruit is not on that list at all! Later phases of the Atkins diet do include limited amounts of fruits such as cantaloupe and even strawberries, and the pre-maintenance and maintenance phases even allow small quantities of grapefruit, but when looked at in comparison with the amount of Grapefruit recommended on the Atkins Grapefruit Diet there is a massive discrepancy.

The Atkins Grapefruit Diet suggests a cup of grapefruit juice or a cup of grapefruit sections, with 8 and 18 carbs respectively. Even the most liberal phases of the Atkins diet suggests restricting intake to below 8 carbs per day, with regard to grapefruit. That is a direct contradiction of one plan to the other.

Most reasonable people would have a look at the Atkins website itself the moment they heard of the Atkins Grapefruit Diet and when they found no mention of that diet on their site, a red light would flash and an alarmbell would sound.

In general, remember that any plan that relies very heavily on one type of food, such as grapefruit on a grapefruit diet, is unhealthy for any but very short periods. The Atkins Grapefruit Diet is not associated with the Atkins diet, and may interfere with the results of the Atkins diet, especially in its early phases.

Do you need to lose those excess kilos real fast? Well, take a free look at The Atkins Diet, by visiting our resource called The Atkins Diet Plan Free reprint avaialable from: The Atkins Grapefruit Diet..
